About Us

Joseph Brown, LCSW-S The pain that pushes us toward change can be the best thing that ever happened to us. You look at the toughest things you’ve gone through with gratitude because of who they helped you become.

Hard to believe? Are you thinking, “That’s easy for you to say – you aren’t feeling this way!”

Trust me when I tell you that I’ve felt down in the dumps, and I’m going to feel that way again. It’s part of being alive.

Thankfully, I know a few simple truths today that I wasn’t born knowing. I opened myself to guidance and now share what I’ve learned with others who are ready to feel better, happier, and more confident.

Being Human

Many things happen in life. We make mistakes. We make bad choices, sometimes over and over again before we’re ready to change.

Well, guess what? That’s the human condition.

I know for a fact that if we don’t learn to hug our past mistakes, they may always haunt us.

We can hug them for what we’ve learned, let them go, and someday if we keep at it, we’ll even be able to feel grateful for them.

You could say that learning to hug your past mistakes is one of the most important parts of therapy.

If you decide to call me and come in for a session, you’ll have a safe and nonjudgmental space in which you can practice hugging anything and everything from your past that you haven’t made peace with.

This Too Shall Pass

“Gam Zeh Ya vor” – this too shall pass – applies to all people in all situations.

Rich or poor, happy or sad; it’s going to pass.

When you learn to live this lesson in your life every day, you can eliminate a heap of suffering.

Living with the light touch that knows “this too shall pass” takes practice, and that practice is something you’ll get with me when you decide to work with me as your therapist.

Now is the Perfect Time

It’s never too early or too late to make the changes you want to make.

There are many paths to change. We are so different in our sameness that we all need to come to the path and choose it for ourselves.

If now is the moment and you feel ready for therapy, I encourage you to reach out by calling (281) 713-9004.

We will meet for an initial session to see if we’re a good fit for working together.

From there, I will support you to make friends with your past.

I will help you learn new ways of looking at things that can work better for you than the old habits you long to leave behind.

Together, we can help you overcome whatever your life has brought you that feels unresolved so you can walk into the future lighter and happier.
